Uniko Sponsors CASology!

It certainly is a busy day round here today! We've our July 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY going on HERE. Plus I have my usual CAS Colours & Sketches DT card HERE and myself and Uniko are super duper honoured and proud to be sponsoring this weeks CASology challenge HERE!!

This week the challenge at CASology is...

There are a few Uniko clear stamp sets that are suited to this cue word, I was inspired however to use Pure Florals: Cosmos. This is mainly due to the sentiment in the set 'Make a Wish'...

I was also inspired by a couple of challenges, "Less is More" and AAA Cards, which have teamed up to bring a FAB one layer challenge and to use a coloured card base HERE and HERE...

I also happened to be making my card after making my July 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY card seen HERE and was itching to carry on using the Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolours...

Again, I heat embossed the sentiment and the Cosmos image in black embossing powder and then got to watercoloring. Super simple but beautifully sparkly and pretty!

That's all I have to share with you today, I do hope you will join in on the CASology challenge HERE and look forward to seeing you in the gallery :)

Thanks for stopping by for all the fun today.

CAS Colours & Sketches #231 - Sketch!

Welcome to another challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and this month Cathy is our hostess. Last week we had a wonderful fresh and vibrant colour combo to inspire you and this week we have a sketch designed by Cathy...

Argh! Ovals! You might know already that I don't reach for ovals very often. It's a shape that just doesn't sing to me design wise, so it always gets me out of my comfort zone.

Anyway, this is what I came up with...

I now own some oval dies, so that was one hurdle I have overcome! My design was a spin off from my Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY card seen HERE (the hop started today too, so there is plenty of time to hop along and comment to be in the chance of winning).

I already had Marvellous Mehndi on my desk, which is the clear stamp set the Uniko DT and myself are revisiting. So it seemed appropriate to give it another outing ;) I used the same colours, which are basically all of the Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolours!

I stamped and heat embossed the paisley design, as this helps keep the watercolour in place. I just LOVE the sparkle of these watercolour paints. The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added a few sparkly glitter enamel dots to compliment the design.

That's all from me today using the sketch, but if you need some more inspiration using the sketch be sure to pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE and see how the DT and Guest Designer have used it.

Thanks for stopping by today.

July 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

It's time for another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

I know theoretically July should be a release month, but earlier in the year I mentioned that I was aiming to take some of the stress of releases away a little, I have delayed it until August, it'll be a good one - promise!  Anyway, the Design Team and I are here today to revisit and give some fresh inky love to a previously released clear stamp set.

This month I decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Marvellous Mehndi...

This clear stamp set was released last year HERE and was and still is hugely popular. I've had so much fun creating cards using this set, it really does have a wealth of possibilities.

As usual I have picked a couple of my 'old' favourites using this set...

You can find more inspiration using this set HERE on the Pinterest Page.

Now, how about some fresh new inspiration using this set AND don't forget to comment along the Design Team blogs to be in the chance of winning the Marvellous Mehndi Or a £10 eGift Certificate if you already own the prize! You have until Midnight GMT 18th July to get your comments in.

Inspired by Chinese Porcelain - DT Post

Hello everyone, Rahmat here. Today I am up with a card inspired by the Chinese Porcelain. For almost a decade I have been living in a Chinese region which is heavily influenced by the Portuguese architecture, and from time to time I do get inspired by the local culture for my cards. Here we have the Portuguese influence of white and blue tiles everywhere. So I have used the colors white and blue from the Chinese Porcelain, but used the Portuguese tile form for the card.

Here is a look of tiled form on the card.

I had used the Beautiful Blooms III set and I love Tea set for the flowers and stamped using Chipped Sapphire Distress ink, all over in random.

I used a white base and added a Pattern paper with text from Doodlebug

I then cut the stamped panel into tiles, and added the panels to replicate the tiles on the top and bottom, leaving some space in the middle for the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Cosmos set, I stamped it using the same ink, and edged the panel with silver glitter paper.

I hope you like my inspiration, and you do try it out.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

CAS Colours & Sketches - Colours!

Hey & Happy July!

Welcome to another challenge and a new month at CAS Colours & Sketches. A new month means a new hostess and this month Cathy is hosting the challenges.

As usual we are starting things off with a colour challenge HERE and Cathy has chosen a couple of the NEW Stampin' Up! In Colours to pair with an older colour...

I'm just LOVING the new Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst, they are so fresh and vibrant colours. So this is how I used them...

I used the two new colours on last weeks card HERE and had a couple of pieces of die cuts left over, so I grabbed them and modelled my card design around them. With the vibrancy of the colours I instantly thought of Explosion! (due back in stock on the 15th July) and Explosion! Additions clear stamp sets and set to work stamping the explosion in Island Indigo and the WOW! in black and colouring it in to match.

Both the explosion and the WOW! are adhered to the card using foam adhesive, so quite a bit of dimension on this card. I added a subtle sparkle of clear Wink of Stella to the WOW! quite hard to see in the photo and added some of the new Glitter Enamel Dots to finish.

That's all from me today, if you need some more inspiration using the sketch be sure to pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE and see how the DT and Guest Designer have used the colours.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Design Team Inspiration - Flower Power On The Edge

Hi, it's Jane here today with a trio of cards to share.

I've been busy creating with some of the in stock Flower Power stamp sets and have a bit of a theme going on. All three cards use the outline flower stamps and all three have them sitting on the edge.

First up is my personal favourite - had to start with that one!

This card uses Flower Power #3 which has that iconic flower from the Uniko logo. I did a bit of masking and built up the border and then hand cut it. Looks so amazing against the dark fresh fig cardstock, just like lace don't you think?

I added a touch of grey pen round the top edge to create a bit of depth and a pretty mini gem to the centre of each bloom.

Flower Power #3
Ink & cardstock: SU, fresh fig
Promarker: cool grey 1
Bling Bling gems

I'm sticking with the same coloured cardstock for my next card, but have changed over to Flower Power #2. I think this was my first ever purchase from Uniko and has remained a staple favourite ever since.

I used all three of the new SU ink colours to create this border and masked out each flower as I stamped along. Once I'd cut the border I raised it up on pads and splattered a bit of white ink to peep out from behind.

The sentiment is also also from this stamp set and has a wonderful curly font.

Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power # 2
Inks: SU, powder pink, berry burst, fresh fig
Promarker: vanilla
Gems from my stash

For my last card I've changed up both the cardstock colour and the stamp set. This time I'm featuring Flower Power #7 with a sentiment from Flower Power #3.

This is one of those really sweet flower stamps that reminds me so much of how I used to doodle round my lesson notes at school. I stamped using versamark and then added white embossing powder and heat set it to give a more raised appearance.

It's difficult to see but I did add a little colour round the flower centres before popping on some pretty sparkly gems.

Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power #7 & #3
Ink: Memento, pear tart; Versamark, clear
Embossing: RTanger Superfine, white
Gems: Bling Bling
Promarker: meadow green

Well that's me done for today. I hope I may have given you some new ideas to try out with the Flower Power range of Uniko stamps sets. Thanks for looking and keep crafting!
